Welcome to Christ Through Hands Ministry
Christ Through Hands Ministry (CTHM) is a non-profit ecumenical ministry focused primarily on students at the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind and the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf. In addition, Christ Through Hands Ministry serves the deaf and blind adult communities in the Faribault area, and works cooperatively with other Christian ministries for the blind and deaf throughout Minnesota and across the United States.
The Ministries are housed as a guest of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Faribault, while working with the students at the Academies.
These services began in 1900 as Ephphatha Ministry for the Blind and the Deaf. At its inception, Ephphatha was a home mission activity of the Norwegian Lutheran Church Synod. In 1994, the organization changed its name to Christ Through Hands Ministry (CTHM) and became more ecumenical as several of the denominations that had ministries on the campus no longer found it possible to continue their ministry.
